Fourteen minutes from the yard on Arroyo Road, the shortest run we make.

~15 minThe older grid south of downtown — Fifth, Sixth and Seventh Streets, small bungalows put up between the twenties and the forties on narrow lots, with the garage sitting at the back of the property facing the alley. Fifteen minutes from the Arroyo Road yard.

~18 minThe big tract east of Holmes Street off East Avenue. Single-story ranch houses from the fifties and sixties on curved streets, attached garages facing the road, mature trees, and families that have held the same address for thirty and forty years. Eighteen minutes.

A walkable older downtown of shopfronts and small offices, and behind it large tracts running from the seventies to the present, with attached garages, side gates and long driveways. Twenty-two minutes, priced from the same list used across Livermore.

~26 minNorth-west where the two freeways cross. The newest housing in the Tri-Valley, condominium and townhome complexes behind a rolling gate, tuck-under garages, and shopping strung along the interchange. Twenty-six minutes, and the drive is described as it is.
